La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs a, depuis sa fondation en 1248 par le roi de France Louis IX, maintenu une Noble tradition. Tout en assurant une fonction culturelle importante, la Chaîne préserve l’art de la bonne cuisine et la finesse de la culture liée à la gastronomie. OBJECTIFS DE LA CHAINE --------------------------------------------- L’objectif principal de la Chaîne est de réunir, partout à travers le monde, les gastronomes et les professionnels fervents de la bonne chère, de l’art de la cuisine et de la culture de la table. Basée sur de grandes traditions, notre confrérie découvre et encourage de nouveaux professionnels chaque année en organisant des concours et en offrant des bourses, partout à travers le monde. La confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs est une "Chevalerie"; ses membres se doivent honneur, fraternité, respect et entraide.	OBJECTIVES OF THE CHAINE ------------------------------------------------- The main objective of the Chaîne is to unite, from all over the world, Gastronomes and Professionals with distinctive refined taste, who appreciate quality "Cuisine" and the culture of the table. Based on great traditions, our "Confrérie " encourages the development of young professionals by awarding scholarships and sponsoring competitions all around the world. The "Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs" is a "Knighthood", and its members pledge to fulfill the obligations of honour, brotherhood and respect to their fellow members.
MISSION DU BAILLIAGE D'EGYPTE --------------------------------------------------------- Tout en gardant les valeurs et les objectifs de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, le Bailliage d’Egypte joue un rôle important dans le tourisme en Egypte. D’une part, notre Bailliage représente l’Egypte devant les 120 pays de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs; d’autre part, en organisant des dîners de haute qualité, le bailliage contribue à la formation des chefs et des restaurateurs égyptiens. Le Bailliage d’Egypte est aussi un lien entre les deux cultures: orientale et occidentale, qui a pour but de préserver la fraternité et la paix entre les pays.	MISSION OF THE BAILLIAGE OF EGYPT ----------------------------------------------------------------- While maintaining the values and objectives of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the "Bailliage d’Egypte" plays an important role in tourism in Egypt. The Bailliage represents Egypt in front of the 120 countries of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs – Furthermore, by organising high quality dinners, the Bailliage contributes to the formation of Egyptian chefs and "Restaurateurs". The Bailliage of Egypt is also a bridge between western and eastern cultures, aiming to promote fraternity and peace between countries.
EXTRAITS DU REGLEMENTS DE LA CHAINE DEMANDE D'ADMISSION Toute demande d’admission doit être formulée sur un imprimé spécial intitulé "Demande d’Admission". Le Candidat doit compléter ce formulaire, le dater et le signer. La demande comporte obligatoirement les noms de deux parrains membres de la Chaîne et leurs signatures. La demande ainsi complétée doit être soumise au Bailli local compétent, accompagnée du règlement des frais de première année établie à l’ordre de "La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs". Ces frais comprennent les droits d’admission, la cotisation de l’année en cours, la médaille, la chaîne, le ruban, le diplôme et la carte de membre. DECISION D'ADMISSION La commission des admissions et radiations examine toutes les demandes d’admission et statue sur la suite à donner à ces demandes. Après accord de la commission et réception par le siège mondial du paiement des cotisations, la nomination accompagnée de la carte de membre est adressée par la chancellerie internationale aux Baillis Délégués pour être transmise aux intéressés. A la suite de sa nomination le nouveau membre recevra les insignes de son grade lors du Chapitre des intronisations. PERTE DE LA QUALITE DE MEMBRE La qualité de membre se perd: - Par démission du membre - Par radiation prononcée pour non paiement de la cotisation annuelle. - Pour toute inobservation du règlement intérieur. COMMANDEURS Le titre "Commandeur" sera donné, sur demande, à tous les membres de la Chaîne, après vingt ans de la date de leur intronisation, et une présence sans interruption à la Chaîne.	EXTRACT FROM "OPERATING REGULATIONS" APPLYING TO THE CHAINE : All applications for admission to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs must be made using the special "application form" prescribed and printed by the Chaîne Board of Directors. The candidate must respond truthfully to all the questions, and date and sign the form. The form must be countersigned by two sponsors whose names shall appear legibly, and who shall both be members in good standing of the Chaîne. The completed form shall be sent to the Regional Bailli, along with a proper check made out to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, covering admission fees and dues for the first year. First year fees for all candidates for membership, shall include admission fees, dues for the current year, medal, chain, ribbon, diploma given after induction & membership card. ADMISSION The Regional Bailli must give his/her confidential opinion on the candidacy. The form shall then be sent to the Bailli Délégué. A copy shall be sent to the Grand Chancelier in Paris, with the confidential opinion of the Bailli Délégué and Regional Bailli. In all cases, the opinions of the sponsors, the Regional Bailli and/or the Bailli Délégué shall remain strictly confidential. The members of the Admissions and Removals Committee, designated by the Board of Directors examine all applications and vote upon the outcome of such applications. The nominations and promotions shall be made in the name of the Conseil Magistral, and the interested parties shall be informed by the Grand Chancelier. The nomination made by the Grand Chancelier , along with membership card, shall be sent to the Baillli to be forwarded to the interested parties. Once the new member has been nominated, he/she shall receive the insignia of his/her title during the "Chapitre des Intronisations". MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION: Membership shall be terminated by: - The member’s recorded resignation; or - Removal decided upon for non-payment of annual dues. - Removal decided upon for any non-observance of the operating regulations (in particular for any breach of fraternity). COMMANDEUR The "Commandeur" title shall be given, upon request, to any member of the "Chaîne " who has regularly participated, without interruption, in the Chaîne for at least twenty years since induction.
COMMANDEMENTS DE L’ART DE LA TABLE 1) On ne mélange pas l’eau et le vin (l’eau doit être servie à part) 2) On ne fume pas à table, seulement après le café. 3) Le sel et le poivre sur les tables ne sont pas conseillés. 4) On débranche son téléphone portable pendant les repas (c’est plus convivial). 5) On ne fait pas de discours pendant le repas. 6) On ne se lève pas de table durant les repas (sauf pour nécessité).	ART OF THE TABLE RULES 1) Water and wine should not be mixed (water should be served apart). 2) Smoking is not allowed at the table, except after coffee is served. 3) Salt and pepper on the table are not recommended. 4) Mobile phones should be switched off during dinners. 5) Speeches are not permitted during meals. 6) One should not leave the table during the dinner (unless necessary).
